Berkeley hosts many innovation-related events each year. In addition to the upcoming gatherings highlighted on the Berkeley Innovators home page, here are some annual or recurring events that may be of interest to entrepreneurs.


Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum

The Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum provides a gathering place for UC Berkeley students and the Bay Area community to meet with, and learn from, seasoned entrepreneurs.

Berkeley Gateway to Innovation (BEGIN)

BEGIN aims to provide a roadmap for entrepreneurship and innovation at UC Berkeley, spanning from student groups to entrepreneurship competitions to alumni networks.

Cal Hacks

Yearly hackathon for students interested in creating new software and hardware products. Lasts 36 hours and takes place in the fall semester.

Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation (Haas)

A world-wide ecosystem of Open Innovation experts, practitioners, firms, and academics.


QB3 is the University of California's hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in life sciences. The institute supports UC researchers and empowers Bay Area entrepreneurs to launch startup companies and partner with industry.

RISElab (formerly AMPlab)

The RISELab aims to develop technologies that enable applications to interact intelligently and securely with their environment in real time.

Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing

Brings together the leading researchers, as well as the next generation of outstanding young scholars, to explore deep unsolved problems about the nature and limits of computation, ultimately impacting major interdisciplinary challenges.
