Berkeley hosts many innovation-related events each year. In addition to the upcoming gatherings highlighted on the Berkeley Innovators home page, here are some annual or recurring events that may be of interest to entrepreneurs.


Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum

The Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum provides a gathering place for UC Berkeley students and the Bay Area community to meet with, and learn from, seasoned entrepreneurs.

Berkeley Entrepreneurship Week

Held in late November, Berkeley Entrepreneurship Week brings together students, alumni and community members for a series of networking events, pitches, demos and discussions geared to equipping students with the resources and connections to jumpstart their startup careers.

Cal Hacks

Yearly hackathon for students interested in creating new software and hardware products. Lasts 36 hours and takes place in the fall semester.

Career Fairs

Fairs target various student populations and interests. Many fill up fast and require registration well in advance; some are by invitation only; fees vary.

CSUA Weekly Hack+

Sundays at 4pm in the Wozniak Lounge in Soda Hall. Snacks provided. Occasionally sponsored by startups and industry leaders.

EECS Events

From tech talks to career info sessions, the EECS calendar is packed with events and resources for students, scholars, and alumni.

Garwood Center for Corporate Innovation (Haas)

A world-wide ecosystem of Open Innovation experts, practitioners, firms, and academics.


Specifically focused on life sciences, QB3 provides support and resources to entrepreneurs from incorporation to operation to growth.

RISElab (formerly AMPlab)

The RISELab develops technologies that enable applications to make low-latency decisions on live data with strong security.

Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing

Brings together the leading researchers, as well as the next generation of outstanding young scholars, to explore deep unsolved problems about the nature and limits of computation, ultimately impacting major interdisciplinary challenges.


Annual event featuring inspirational presentations from world-leading thinkers, makers, and doers at Berkeley.

VC Connect (Haas Venture Fellows)

An annual event and networking opportunity for Haas MBA students and the VC/Angel Investor community.
