Cal has an active mentor network across campus. Students and mentors are connected through the Skydeck Mentor Network, the Cal Startup Network résumé database at the Career Center, and alumni events hosted by the Haas School of Business, Berkeley Engineering, Startup@Berkeley, and other campus groups.

Association of Chinese Entrepreneurs

Founded in 2012, ACE promotes student interest in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship in China. ACE hosts events and learning opportunities, and collaborates with both US universities and Silicon Valley firms.

Berkeley Connect

Part of the Division of Undergraduate Education, Berkeley Connect is an academic mentoring program that pairs undergraduate students with graduate student mentors to build communities around shared interests.

Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum

The Berkeley Entrepreneurs Forum provides a gathering place for UC Berkeley students and the Bay Area community to meet with, and learn from, seasoned entrepreneurs.

Berkeley Innovation

Since 2003, BI is a design group that aims to connect Berkeley students to collaborative design innovation through education, practice, and thought leadership.

Berkeley Postdoc Entrepreneurs Program (BPEP)

BPEP provides the postdoc and graduate community with tools, mentoring, and a platform for science/industry interaction to enable research innovations to move into the marketplace.

Berkeley Startup Cluster

Events, networking and community resources for entrepreneurs and companies in the Berkeley area. The BSC is a collaborative effort of the City of Berkeley's Office of Economic Development, the Downtown Berkeley Association, the Berkeley Chamber of Commerce, UC Berkeley, and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.

Berkeley-Haas Entrepreneurship Program (BHEP)

Umbrella organization integrating entrepreneurial thinking throughout the Berkeley-Haas ecosystem. The central portal for Berkeley-Haas entrepreneurship courses, competitions, student groups, and events organized by Berkeley-Haas and The Lester Center for Entrepreneurship.

CAA Berkeley Network

This California Alumni Association program provides networking opportunities for Cal alumni, and mentorship opportunities with current Cal students.

Cal Founders

A forum for experienced alumni to have confidential and informative discussions about pressing business issues in a risk-free setting (not officially affiliated with UCB).

CITRIS Foundry

The Foundry is a startup accelerator that helps early-stage startups refine their ideas, raise funding, and choose a market strategy. 12-month long program that provides funding, workspace in the CITRIS Invention Lab, and mentorship to startups developing disruptive solutions for society’s pressing needs.

Free Ventures

UC Berkeley's student-run pre-seed startup incubator, crafting individualized paths for student founders across industries and academic backgrounds in a 3-month program.

Global Social Venture Competition

A global competition that provides aspiring entrepreneurs with mentoring, exposure, and over $80,000 in prizes to transform their ideas into ventures that will address the world's most pressing challenges. Teams from across the globe learn how to design scalable models through a process that emphasizes stakeholder discovery, business innovation, and social impact assessment.

Haas Venture Fellows

Focused on connecting MBA students to the VC community through hands-on projects, HVF is involved in several entrepreneurial activities and events on campus.

Industry Partners at SkyDeck

SkyDeck Industry Partners are innovative corporate teams deeply engaging with incubated SkyTeams. Industry Partners receive concierge access to the UC Berkeley entrepreneurial ecosystem, pairing their expert corporate guidance with the startups’ cutting edge technology.

LAUNCH:  The UC Berkeley Startup Competition

Accelerator program and competition guides companies from validated product to fundable business, including training, networking, mentorship and cash awards. LAUNCH helps companies build out their teams, protect IP, connect with industry experts, get minimum viable products into customers’ hands, prove their scalable business model, pitch to investors, and become fundable.

QB3

QB3 is the University of California's hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in life sciences. The institute supports UC researchers and empowers Bay Area entrepreneurs to launch startup companies and partner with industry.

Sigma Eta Pi

Berkeley's premier co-ed entrepreneurship fraternity. Offers members education, networking, and mentoring in the start-up ecosystem and venture process.

SkyDeck

Accelerator program for startups with launched products/tech and user traction. Provides workspace in downtown Berkeley and a practical, experience-based program to accelerate startups towards a position of strength for growth and survival in their market. Formed as a partnership between the Haas School of Business, the College of Engineering, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, SkyDeck combines the consulting know-how of traditional accelerators with the vast resources of its research university.

STEM Center for Undergraduate Diversity

STEM Scholars support each other in their academic and career paths. They engage in research, participate in professional development workshops, work collaboratively in academic study groups, and prepare for successful STEM careers and/or graduate school. Students welcome mentorship, internship and job opportunities, and/or partnerships with STEM innovators.

Student Groups

Cultivate recruiting and mentoring leads by connecting with student groups, including Computer Science Undergraduate Association, Computer Science Graduate Entrepreneurs, Sigma Eta Pi, and Eta Kappa Nu.

Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology (SCET)

UC Berkeley's premiere institution for the study and practice of "technology-centric" entrepreneurship and innovation. Programs include undergraduate and graduate student certificate programs, bootcamps, public lectures, and competitions.

Venture Capital Investment Competition

Current UC Berkeley students (graduate or undergraduate) compete in teams of five. VCIC gives students the opportunity to act as investors in early stage companies – evaluating business ideas, conducting due diligence, and negotiating investments – all with real entrepreneurs.
